tathāgata, thus gone one

One who has reached the real nature, a buddha. [WOMPT, 1998]

lit. "One who has gone thus." An epithet of the Buddhas. [TPQ, 2010] [LLB, 2002]

Lit. “one who has gone to thusness”: an epithet of a Buddha. [ZT, 2006]

An epithet of a Buddha. [NLF, 2005]

lit. one who has gone thus. A synonym for Buddha. [WL, 2012]

“one who has gone to thusness.” A buddha; one who has reached or realized thusness, the ultimate reality. Also, one who is “thus come,” a buddha in the body of manifestation (nirmaṇakāya) who has appeared in the world to benefit beings.[OMS, 2018][NS]
