A classificação tradicional do Dharma de acordo com a escola Nyingma. Os três primeiros são conhecidos como os três veículos causais do śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas e bodhisattvas. Seguem-se os três veículos dos tantras externos, nomeadamente, Kriyayoga (Kriyatantr)a, Upayoga (Upatantra) e Yogatantra. Finalmente, os três veículos dos tantras internos: Mahāyoga, Anuyoga, e Atiyoga. Estes podem também ser divididos da seguinte forma: primeiro, os três veículos do Sūtrayāna, seguidos pelos seis veículos do Vajrayāna.

The traditional classification of the Dharma according to the Nyingma school. The first three are known as the three causal vehicles of the śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas and bodhisattvas. Following these are the three vehicles of the outer tantras, namely, Kriyayoga, Upayoga, and Yogatantra. Finally there are the three vehicles of the inner tantras: Mahāyoga, Anuyoga, and Atiyoga.
