The third major Buddhist king of Tibet. He lived in the eleventh century and instigated the systematization of Tibetan grammar and vocabulary for the purposes of translation of texts from Sanskrit. He was assassinated by his brother Lang Darma. He is said to have been a manifestation of the Bodhisattva Vajrapani. [LLB 2002]
